Beginning Socks - Top Down

Always wanted to make socks?  This is a progressive class which will cover each stage of the sock knitting process over three separate class times.  The first class will be an introductory class covering: casting on onto double pointed needles (dpns), measuring your feet for socks, personal knitting gauge, and beginning the cuff.

This sock will be made using DK weight yarn because less stitches and rows are required to finish the sock.  This makes progress much faster compared to the fingering weight version of socks.  Yarn is available in many different colors and styles at the shop.  Stop by to pick out a skein for the class before it begins.

The second class will focus on the heel turn, the heel flap, and the gusset.  These are the essential parts of a classic sock heel.  You may learn other variations in the future, but this version allows you to create your own socks in the future.

The third class will focus on creating the toe and finishing the sock.

There will be ample time between classes for you to keep up and complete you sock.
