Highland Slipover Class
The Highland Slipover is a quick and relaxing knit. The sweater is knitted in worsted weight yarn. We will be making this class' project in Donegal Soft Tweed (100% Merino) available from Spinnin' Yarns. The yarn has already been ordered in sweater quantities for the occasion. Pattern: Highland Slipover
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner or Intermediate
Yarn: Soft Donegal Tweed (Size and yarn requirements available at the shop.)
Pattern included with class.
Needles: Size 7 circular needle in 16" and 32" or needle to make gauge
Size 6 circular needle in 16" (for cuffs, collar, bands) or one needle smaller than the one with which you obtained gauge
Homework Assignment: Make a gauge swatch (18 stitches and 28 rows = 4") in stockinette stitch and block swatch.
Skills Needed: Techniques - Knitting flat, knitting in the round, long-tail cast-on, backwards loop cast-on, increasing, German Short Rows, holding stitches, picking up stitches.
Session 1: Cast on, work the neckline and back.
Session 2: Knit Right front and left front.
Session 3: Armhole increases and joining in the round.
Session 4: Picking up stitches for arm band an neckline. *** Please note that this session will be two weeks after session 3 to allow you to finish the body of your sweater.
