About Us

Spinnin’ Yarns has been providing the needle arts community with a wide variety of premium yarns and knitting / crocheting supplies since 2010.

When the local yarn shop closed here in Griffith, IN, a group of area knitting enthusiasts encouraged Jamie Gunnink to open her own knit shop. Originally started as a home-based business, the demand for yarn increased, necessitating the move into a small brick and mortar business space. Within a year, Spinnin’ Yarns moved to a larger location to accommodate an extensive yarn selection and growing customer base.

Our goal here at Spinnin' Yarns is to encourage the growth of a diverse and thriving fiber community, as well as improving individual skills and promoting knitting and crocheting as a lifetime hobby both locally and nationally. That’s why we strive to maintain a casual, no-pressure atmosphere where learning and creativity thrive. We also have a friendly staff on hand to offer individualized service and ongoing project support to ensure an enjoyable and successful handcrafting experience!
